Sequels are fun, they let us explore a game loved again and see something new from time to time, and there a lot of methods to go about making them happen. Some like to make the game completely the same as the last and have the player explore new and exciting environments. Others like to give us a new genre to explore as they expand on it or mark the genre as one of the greats. Then there are those that just go above all else and surprise everyone. I mean, look at games like Half-Life 2, Final Fantasy VI or even Halo 3 of all things. These games made the mark of gaming history as soon as they hit shelves, but there are those lonesome games out there that started amazingly but just never surfaced beyond that. It’s kind of sad seeing some great games, deserving of a sequel, just stay at the bottom of the barrel and don’t achieve anything after the devs’ hard work. So how would you go about making a sequel for them?

How would you plan to make a sequel for devs that deserve one or one to save the game after the devs put in deep crap? How would the game change? What about it would draw the players to play your sequel instead of the original? Would physics or mechanics be different? Would your sequel be the next revolution? We really want to see how you guys would do this and what kind of game you make out your favorite games.

The due date is at the 31st of this month, so get to it. Don’t forget, if you have any questions, contact me or Haley and ask us whatever you want. We hope you guys enjoy this and ‘til next time…
