Oh, Overwatch. I thought I would never touch again. As soon as I saw that they were adding a new character in the game, I thought the worst for the character since Sombra was not a change in the game. I waited to see what he would be like and I was shocked to see what he was. Hello and welcome to this little analysation.

Orisa is a heavy character and I believe is the only correct one. "But StarterPack! What about Zarya, Winston, Bastion, Reinhardt and more? They are heavy classes!" They aren't... Technically. Zarya has an ability to increase the health temporarily, but her primary fire is mid-ranged and she has a ball launcher that doesn't go far. Bastion doesn't count since he is a minor soldier on foot and a stationary sentry when he activates the ability, so he is a stationary Heavy most of the time. Winston... I don't know what to call Winston. I guess I would call him a weaker Pyro. Reinhardt is obviously not going to count as a proper heavy class since he's just a walking wall with a hammer. Sounds like some song I heard before...

Anyways, Orisa is a long-mid ranged character that can spray at anything. You want to see what's behind that corner, on a roof, or a floor below you? You can hit scan your way to killing whoever tries to sneak a shot at ya! "But Bastion can do that too!" Well, yeah! Of course he can, but he is a stationary heavy character, he only pushes the enemy team behind corners. He doesn't push them back and force them to strategize to push him back, he's just a camper that waits for someone to walk in his crosshairs. Orisa would be able to push the opponent back and restrict them from getting past you.

"What about Reinhardt? He has a shield and he can charge his opponents to death!" Yes! We know, but Orisa has a shield to, but it is a deployable cover! You can destroy it like Reinhardt's, but it's weaker. "But I don't want that!" Shhhh... You're already a heavy class. You enough health to survive a little bit of damage. "Zarya can help teammates with her shielding ability!" Yeah, but that deployable cover is like Reinhardt's shield, helping the entire team. "Well, I guess Orisa and Reinhardt are both perfect heavy classes."

Wrong. He is a good character for a heavy class, but the clear difference of defensive Heavy and an offensive heavy is that offense can kill while be protected. Reinhardt, when using his shield, can't use any of his weapons and depends on teammates to stay behind him and hope they don't rush the enemy team unnecessarily. Plus, some players have exploited him by just protecting the Bastion and then everyone wants to take part in that and the entire becomes a Reinhardt and Bastion dating pool full of campers. Orisa can suppress enemy lines and can rush enemies down at the same time. She is a universal character that can protect a point and rush a team. Every other heavy character just seems to be an attempt to be a heavy that Blizzard tried and failed.

I mean, if you compare Orisa to the Heavy from TF2, they seem to have the same goals. Although, they don't have the same abilities they still seem to be able to achieve the same goals: suppress a team from capturing a point or to push the team to capture the point. What makes this even better is that there is a healer in both games. Yes, there are others that can heal, but they seem to be too confusing to use. I'm not saying they're bad in any way, just too challenging to be a proper and reliable medic in the team. Mercy and the Medic do it right since they are the default of healers: a constant stream of health with a slow heal rate, but can die in any second. To be a heavy, there has to be a healer and Orisa and Mercy would be a great couple. No, I'm not shipping them in any way, I mean like a good Heavy-Medic combo type of couple. Plus Orisa seems that he would be the only one that would not need to demand a heal since Orisa has a good array of clear skills to protect Mercy, instead of the normal Reinhardt being juked constantly or the boring stationary sentry that just stands there, waiting for a person to walk in front of his gun. What about Winston and Zarya? Zarya can help herself, but Winston... I don't think most people would want to save him...

It just would seem that Orisa would be a more reliable class to heal constantly. You would feel safe with him, in you grasp of healing. No worries at all. No need to jump-the-gun or to pull out that pistol, just heal constantly since he will protect you, and he won't let you go... Too much? Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little opinion, it was fun to write and it was fun looking at what Orisa has done to fix Overwatch's broken heavy classes. Again hope you liked this and 'til next time...

Play More Games!

Ps: Don't ask me if you want to play with me in this game since I don't play it much nor do I own it completely. I wish you a very nice Day.
